Very happy, all works fine so far

Very smart compact entry level TIG welder. Wish the power switch was on the front rather than round the back - for my setup, underneath a work bench, that's a pain. Controls wise, the digital display only shows the power setting, so for setting things like pre and post flow you have to use the scales on those dials - I'm sure it would have been easy to get the display to output any setting being adjusted rather than just the amps. One thought on the instruction book provided - it is pretty comprehensive, but it doesn't show basic things like how the torch collett etc should be assembled - as this is an entry level machine it might be reasonable to expect it will attract buyers trying TIG for the first time? For the actual operation of the machine - top marks - it is a fabulous bit of kit - and the starter kit supplied as standard allows you to start using it straight away (assuming you already have gas, gloves, mask etc). A real bonus is that the machine is surprisingly small - very neat and compact design. Build quality looks to be great, I expect to get many happy hours with this welder - once I get over all my beginner mistakes!

Used for vwt2 restorations and it does everything i wanted it to do. Very good quality and very compact.

R-tech had been personally recommend to me by half a dozen or more of my colleagues, all are engineers and fabricators from various industry's. When the product arrived, I knew immediately that it was top quality. All of the dials and buttons look and feel crisp and the machine itself, though small. felt sturdy and robust. After setting it up (which was very simple) I turned the machine on and started to practice; Wow, within a few hours it felt natural in my hand, with good clean welds being made. Previously i had have very little experience with a TIG, but with this little machine, it really is a breeze. The machine fits all of my needs, and I plan to use it for some car restoration and some small scale fabrication (exhaust, body repair etc) and so far, on all of the test pieces it seems to of exceeded my expectations. I would recommend this project to the DIY'er, or even to the professional looking for a small and portable DC welder at a fair price. Indeed, you can get welders for less on eBay, but you would be hard pressed to find any that meet the specification or the build quality of an R-tech machine. Furthermore, I have heard nothing but excellent reviews of R-techs customer service record, and although I myself have not yet personally needed to contact them, all of my friends who have highly recommend and have said time and time again how great the team is for support. To summarise then, although it is the entry level machine, it is a fantastic bit of kit, capable of completing all of my DIY needs and is most certainly worth the money. - ***

still early days but pleased with the initial results .
